MRC Motorsport were out competeing for the first time in 2009 on the Mini Tempest Stages @ Longcross on Sunday 5th April. The event went very well and they set competitive times until a fuel pump problem on stage 4 caused the car to cut out twice on stage losing them around 2 minutes. This was traced to a blocked filter in the pump and was fixed during the lunch time service. The afternoon went well with no futher problems and the crew finished 22nd overall and 4th in class which was their best result to date.

Thanks to Graham Robins for the picture.

MRC Motorsport competed at the Ellisport stages at Longcross on the 10th May 2009, this was the teams second outing of the year and produced their best result - 21st overall and 3rd in class.

The day went without any of the technical problems that had beset the team on previous events and apart from a couple of spins it was an uneventful day. There were no results during the day and with the service area located well away from rally HQ the crew had no idea until the awards presentation that they had acheived such a good result. They received the award for 2nd in class as the class winner came 3rd overall.

MRC Motorsport competed at the Bomb-along stages on the 6th Sept, there was a change to the regular line up as Co-driver Matt could not make it so Sam Fordham from Griffin Motorsport stepped in.

This was the crews first time together and it all went well until the second to last stage when they picked up a front right puncture after hitting a pot hole very hard, the tyre was destroyed by the end of the stage and they had lost around a minute so any chance of a decent result was now gone. The service crew changed the puncture and the crew set off into the last stage, part way round they realised that they had a slow puncture on the other front tyre but this held up until after the last stage so didnt cost to much time. They came in 27th overall and 5th in class.
